Arnold Public Schools is part of something special. Something bigger than ourselves. More than brick and mortar. More than students, administration and faculty. Arnold Public Schools is part of a community in which individuals work together for the betterment of the people, lend a helping hand when needed, and have a genuine interest in what’s happening around them.
Our community motto: “ Arnold, Growing Great Things.” Attend an event in Arnold and you’ll find our youth volunteering along- side community leaders. APS believes in creating and seeking volunteer opportunities to address community needs and to inspire youth for a lifetime commitment to service. Community activities include: Downtown Halloween Carnival and Parade, Annual Easter Egg Hunt, Turtle Races, Operation Christmas Child, Food Pantry Drives, and Litter Pick-up just to name a few.
Our school enjoys a connection with community organizations and civic groups. The local Rotary Club, American Legion, and Teammates Chapter all have strong relationships and programs with grades K-12 that provide service-focused experiences for our students.
Arnold’s Sandhills Open Road Challenge is an event that receives national attention for its unique venue and welcoming hospitality. Our students are a big part of success of this week-long event. The football team picks and shucks corn for a drivers' dinner. The basketball team sets up and tears down after meals. The volleyball team sells t-shirts and souvenirs. School House Graphic Products class produces and applies numbers and sponsorship logos for all race cars.
This “essence of community” is perhaps one of the most unique and endearing qualities that brings Arnold Public Schools together with the Community of Arnold. We believe that strong schools build strong communities, and strong communities build strong schools. Our citizenship commitment creates an atmosphere that promotes learning, connection and an understanding of volunteerism and leadership.
