Speech Language Pathologist

In the speech classroom we work hard on articulation sounds and language but we like to have fun while doing it! We reach our articulation goals through a variety of activities from pumpkin bowling and board games to worksheets and reading books aloud. Language is targeted through multiple activities as well, from writing and worksheets to games and stories. I also go into classrooms and work inclusively with some children on language and writing skills. I am often running from place to place between kids in the school setting, preschool, and home visits. The kids have really enjoyed speech this far and I am seeing some great progress made! I like for the speech room to be an enjoyable place for the kids to come and learn!

    About Me

I completed clinicals while in Graduate school at a private clinic working with people who had communication disorders across the lifespan, in an alzthiemer unit at a nursing home, and at a private catholic grade school with children kindergarten through 6th grade. From there I moved to McCook and completed 8 weeks of clinicals in a medical setting covering inpatient and outpatient clients at the hospital, 3 nursing homes, and a clinic working with patients who had dysphagia, aphasia, voice disorders, etc. After completing clinicals in McCook I moved to Goodland, KS where I completed an 8 week rotation of clinicals in three different schools covering children from preschool through 8th grade with a variety of speech and language disorders. I then moved back home to Leoti, KS and worked for High Plains Educational Cooperative covering two school districts with a caseload of around 70 children ages 3 through 12th grade with a variety or speech, language, and significant disabilities for 1 year. I decided I needed a change in my life so I moved to Arnold, NE and am employed through Educational Service Unit 10 and cover Callaway and Arnold school districts working with children birth through 12th grade and doing PRN work for nursing homes and outpatient clinics around the area during the evenings and weekends.
