BIO: I have taught in Arnold Public School for thirty-two years (counting 2016-17). I taught Title 1 Math for five years and have been in fourth grade ever since. During those thirty-one years, I coached track for 13 years, basketball for 14 years, and volleyball for 26 years. I am now in my second year of coaching high school speech.
My husband and I have lived in Arnold for 38 years, after living in Callaway (farming with my parents) for 4 years. I also grew up in Callaway and still own the "Nichelson/Johnson Family Homestead". My husband is a carpenter, and we have three sons. Scott lives in California (San Francisco Bay area) and has two girls. He works for Teknion (special office installation systems) as a trouble shooter, spending lots of time flying to various jobs across the USA. Brandon and his wife Misti live in Omaha and have one daughter and one son. Both are in the medical field (Brandon is a Radiation Therapist and Misti is a Respiratory Therapist). Our youngest son Adam, is a Locomotive Electrician for UP in North Platte. He and Amanda, who works for Mid Plains Community College, have three children- two girls and a boy. Dave and I spend as much time as possible with these seven wonderful grandchildren. It is a FUN part of our lives.
We both enjoy bicycling and motorcycling. I have done ten BRAN rides (Bicycle Ride Across Nebraska), and I'm signed up to do my 11th BRAN this summer. We motorcycle tour whenever possible. We have been spending HOURS refurbishing an old school. When complete, it will be a museum/school upstairs (late 1880s) with a full living area in the downstairs portion. It has been a labor of love.
