Nebraska One Box Pheasant Hunt Scholarships 

Deadline: March 1, 2019

Eligibility: Area high school senior with a minimum GPA of 2.0. Only submissions on the official One Box application will be considered and one application applies to all One Box scholarships available. Award: Varies award amounts. Custer County Farm Bureau Scholarship 

Deadline: March 1, 2019

Eligibility: Custer County is offering scholarships available to graduating high school seniors who(1) live in or attend school in Custer County, Nebraska, (2) are enrolled in anagriculture or related field, and (3) are members of Custer County Farm Bureau. Mid-Plains Community College Scholarships

Deadline: March 1, 2019

Assessment Advantage Scholarships for CCC

Eligibility: Graduating high school senior ,Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen, Minimum assessment scorerequired ACT: Reading: 18, English: 18, Math: 17, ACCUPLACER: Reading: 74, Sentence Skills: 84, Math: 75, Algebra: 31,MAP: Reading: 223, Language: 223, Math: 234, Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Northeast Community College Scholarships

Eugene P. and Letha C. Burnett Scholarship

Deadline: March 1, 2018

Eligibility: This scholarship fund was established in 1985 by a donation from Letha C. Burnett to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Broken Bow, Nebraska. Each year the net income of the fund is to be used to provide scholarships to Catholic youth residing in Custer County, Nebraska or to relatives of Eugene P. and Letha C. (Robinson) Burnett. Loren Eiseley Memorial Scholarship

Deadline: March 1, 2019

Eligibility: Loren Eiseley was a scientist, author, and one of Nebraska’s great twentieth century naturalists. This scholarship is available to any Nebraska high school senior who has been accepted to an accredited college or university. The student must submit the following:

1. ___ 800–1,000 word essay that discusses Eiseley’s message of compassion for all organisms and humanity’s place in the universe

2. ___ Teacher recommendations

3. ___ High School Transcript required, additional list of Scholastic achievements or community service is encouraged

4. ___ List of at least two Eiseley essays read by the applicant

 5. ___ Evidence of having been accepted to an accredited college or university

Nebraska Academy of Science Scholarship Application

Award: $500


Marie and Howard J. Taylor Scholarship

Deadline: March 1, 2019

Eligibility: Available to any Nebraska high school senior with a special interest in the geology of Nebraska and the study of geology. The student must submit the following:

___ An essay that demonstrates an interest in the geology of Nebraska and the study of geology.

___ Teacher recommendations

___ High School Transcript required, additional list of Scholastic achievements or community service is encouraged

 ___ Evidence of the applicant’s intention to enter a Nebraska college or university.

Nebraska Academy of Sciences Scholarship Application

Award: $100


Lincoln Gem and Mineral Scholarship

Deadline: March 1, 2019

Eligibility: Available to any Nebraska high school senior with a special interest in the earth sciences. The student must submit the following:

___ An essay that demonstrates an interest in the earth sciences.

___ 2 teacher recommendations

___ School and community activities related to earth sciences and special awards

Marian Schultz Memorial Environmental Scholarship

Deadline: March 1, 2019

Eligibility: Available to any Nebraska high school senior with special interest in prairie and soil conservation. The student must submit the following:

___ Evidence of prairie and soil conservation practices using field experience or an 800–1,000 word essay that demonstrates the

Nebraska Academy of Sciences Scholarship Application

Award: $750 (awarded in odd numbered years)


Marian O. and Bertrand Schultz Scholarship

Deadline: March 1, 2019

Eligibility: Available to any Nebraska high school senior with an interest in climate and environmental change. The student must submit the following:

___ 800–1,000 word essay that discusses environmental changes that have taken place since the 1880’s in the central Great Plains

(with an emphasis on Nebraska)

___ Teacher recommendations

___ High School Transcript required, additional list of Scholastic achievements or community service is encouraged

___ Evidence of acceptance at the University of Nebraska as a full-time student

Nebraska Academy of Sciences Scholarship Application

Award: $750 (awarded in even numbered years)


Robert S. Kubicek Memorial Scholarship

Deadline: March 1, 2019

Eligibility: Available to any high school senior from Nebraska or Henry County High School (Paris, TN) or Colegio San Felipe High School (Arecibo, Puerto Rico) with an interest in business and the environment. The student must submit the following:

___ 800–1,000 word essay on the responsibilities of the business community to its surrounding environment

Nebraska Academy of Sciences Scholarship Application

Award: $500


FRS College Scholarship Program

Deadline: March 1, 2019

Eligibility: For rural high school seniors interested in returning to a rural area to pursue their careers following graduation from college. Award: 30 national scholarships of $2000.00 each. Central Nebraska Senior Golf Association Scholarship

Deadline March 1, 2019

Neuman M. and Mildred E. Harris Scholarship

Deadline: March 1, 2019

Engebretson Foundation Scholarship

Deadline: March 1, 2019

Central Community College Scholarships

Custer Public Power District Utility Line Scholarship

Deadline: March 1, 2019

Eligibility: High School graduate residing in the Custer Power Service Area interested in a Utility Line Program. Award: Full tuition for up to two years. Contact Information: Visit http://www.custerpower.com/customer-service/youth-activities-scholarships/ for an application.


Jennie M. Melham Memorial Medical Center Auxiliary Scholarship

Deadline: March 1, 2019

Eligibility: Scholarships will be awarded to prospective applicants who live in Custer County and plan to enter the medical field or currently pursuing a degree in the medical field, involving at least a two-year degree in a certified college, technical school or university. Maynard Jensen American Legion Memorial Scholarship

Deadline: March 1, 2019

Eligibility: Applicants must be sons or daughters, grandchildren or great-grandchildren, adopted or stepchildren of members of the Department of Nebraska, the American Legion or POW, MIA, KIA, or any veteran that was a current Legion member at time of death.       Award: $500 Maynard Jensen Scholarship Application


Edgar J. Boschult Memorial Scholarship

Deadline: March 1, 2019

Eligibility: The income from this fund has been used to provide annual scholarships to full-time students in the University of Nebraska system who are enrolled in the Army, Air Force and Naval Science courses at the University. ROTC recipients must show qualities of leadership and aptitude for military or naval science, have a satisfactory scholastic record and be deemed worthy of financial assistance. Award: $500 Edgar J. American Legion Eagle Scout of the Year Scholarship

Eligibility: Be a registered, active member of a Scouts BSA Troop, VarsityScout Team, or Venturing Crew chartered to an American Legionpost, American Legion Auxiliary unit or Sons of The AmericanLegion squadron or be a registered, active member of a chartered Scouts BSA Troop, Varsity Scout Team, or Venturing Crew, and the scout of aLegionnaire, Sons of The American Legion or Auxiliary member. Received the Eagle Scout Award. Be an active member of their religious institution and must have received the appropriate Scouts BSA religious emblem. Have demonstrated practical citizenship in church, school, Scouting, and community. Have reached their 15th birthday and be enrolled in high school at the time of selection. Reside in the department (state) to which they apply.  Award: The American Legion Eagle Scout of the Year will receive a $10,000 scholarship. Jim Hurlbert Memorial Baseball Scholarship

Deadline: March 1, 2019

Eligibility: Open to Nebraska American Legion Baseball players in their last year of Legion Baseball eligibility and/or graduating senior. Award: Up to four scholarships not to exceed $500.00 each will be awarded, as funds are available. At least one scholarship will be awarded from each of the four American Legion Department Membership Areas, as funds are available. Samsung American Legion Scholarship

Deadline: March 1, 2019    

Eligibility: Scholarships are restricted to high school juniors who complete either a Boys State or Girls State program and are a direct descendant - i.e. child, grandchild, great grandchild, etc. - or a legally adopted child of a wartime veteran who served on active duty during at least one of the periods of war officially designated as eligibility dates for American Legion membership. American Legion Auxiliary Department of Nebraska –Nursing Scholarship

Deadline: March 1, 2019

Eligibility: Applicants must be a veteran connected, a resident of Nebraska, and enrolled in any approved school of nursing. Award: $400  American Legion Auxiliary Nursing Scholarship Application


American Legion Auxiliary Department of Nebraska- Vocational Technical Scholarship

Children of Warriors

Deadline: March 1, 2019

Eligibility: This is a National Scholarship. Candidates for this award shall be daughters, sons, grandsons, granddaughters, great-granddaughters, great-grandsons of veterans who served in the Armed Forces during eligibility dates for membership in The American Legion. Ruby Paul Campaign Fund Scholarship (American Legion Auxiliary)

Deadline: March 1, 2019

Eligibility: The Ruby Paul Campaign Fund Scholarship will be awarded to a daughter, son, granddaughter, grandson, great-granddaughter or great-grandson of an American Legion or to an American Legion Auxiliary member who has held Nebraska membership for two years or to an American Legion, American Auxiliary, or Sons of the American Legion member who has held Nebraska membership for two years.  Applicant MUST be enrolled in an accredited college or university for the current year and be a Nebraska resident for the previous three (3) years. Applicant must be a high school senior or a graduate of an accredited high school and have maintained a “B” or better average for the past two (2) semesters of high school.  If selected the scholarship must be used within the year selected. Ruby Lorraine Paul Scholarship

Deadline: March 1, 2019

Eligibility: The Ruby Lorraine Paul Scholarship will be awarded to a daughter, son, granddaughter, grandson, great-granddaughter or great-grandson of an American Legion or to an American Legion Auxiliary member who has held Nebraska membership for two years or to an American Legion, American Auxiliary, or Sons of the American Legion member who has held Nebraska membership for two years.  Applicant MUST be enrolled in an accredited college or university for the current year and be a Nebraska resident for the previous three (3) years.  This scholarship excludes applicants enrolled in a school of nursing. Applicant must be a high school senior or a graduate of an accredited high school and have maintained a “B” or better average for the past two (2) semesters of high school.  If selected the scholarship must be used within the year selected. Aroberta Marie Stretch Memorial Scholarship

Deadline: March 1, 2019

Eligibility: The Roberta Marie Stretch Memorial Scholarship of $400 will be awarded to a qualified applicant enrolled or accepted into an undergraduate or graduate (Masters only) program at a four year college or university.  Applicant must be Veteran connected and a resident of Nebraska.  Preference will be given to former Nebraska Girls State Citizens. Keriakedes Memorial Scholarship

Deadline: March 1, 2019

Eligibility: The Averyl Elaine Keriakedes Memorial Scholarship will be awarded, preferably, to a female enrolled at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln who plans to teach middle school or junior high school social studies. Oxbow Animal Health Scholarship Program

Deadline: March 2, 2019

Eligibility: Be a high school senior graduating from a Nebraska high school, Submit a résumé describing activities and job history. Provide two letters of reference. Provide proof of high school senior status pending graduation from a Nebraska high school. Provide proof of full time enrollment at a college or university for the 2019 Fall Semester. Submit a 300-500 word essay explaining why you want to pursue a career in the pet industry or in the field of animal health. Douglas Watson Memorial Scholarship

Deadline: March 4, 2019

Eligibility: 1) Applicant must be a graduating high school senior or a prior graduate of high school. 2) Applicant must intend to study criminal justice at a Nebraska college or university in order to pursue a career in law enforcement or probation. 3) Applicant must reside in the Nebraska counties of Arthur, Chase, Dawson, Dundy, Frontier, Furnas, Gosper, Hayes, Hitchcock, Hooker, Keith, Lincoln, Logan, McPherson, Perkins, Red Willow or Thomas. 4) Selection criteria also include: education and work plans, character, work histoiy and work ethic; apparent need for financial assistance in paying college expenses, demonstrated interest in criminal justice; potential to benefit from additional education. Award: One $600 scholarship will be awarded for the coming school year. Dr. Fred and Emma Wanek Music Scholarship

Deadline: March 4, 2019

Eligibility: 1) Student who is or will be a full-time music major who demonstrates musical talent. 2) Home residence must be in one of the Nebraska counties of Custer, Dawson, Frontier, Hayes, Keith, Lincoln, Logan, McPherson, and Perkins. Award: One scholarship of $2,700 will be awarded for the coming school year. Scholarship recipient will be notified by mail or e-mail. Marie Dent Scholarship

Deadline: March 4, 2019

Eligibility: 1) Students who are seeking a degree in Registered Nursing (RN) and who have been accepted into a program for registered nurses during the coming school year. 2) Applicants must reside in one of the Nebraska counties of Custer, Dawson, Frontier, Hayes, Keith, Lincoln, Logan, McPherson or Perkins. 3) Applicants must demonstrate financial need. 4) Scholarships may be renewed upon re-application and selection from among all applicants. Award: Several scholarships will be awarded. Each scholarship typically is approximately $1,000 and amounts may vary. E.E. "Herb" & Marion "Bunny" Hoover North Platte Community College Scholarship

Deadline: March 4, 2019

Eligibility: 1) Graduating senior or graduate of a high school within the Nebraska counties of Custer, Dawson, Frontier, Hayes, Keith, Lincoln, Logan, McPherson, or Perkins. 2) Applicant must have a cumulative GPA equivalent to at least a "B" during the most recent two years of
school. 3) Applicant must deinonstrate financial need. 4) Applicant must be unlikely to receive another significant scholarship award. 5) Scholarship may be renewed upon re-application and selection from among all applicants. Award: Several scholarships are available for the coming school year. Each scholarship is typically $1,000 or more and amounts may vary. Deadline: March 4, 2019

Ralph B. and Lela L. Dailey Scholarship

Eligibility: 1) Graduating seniors or graduates from any high school in Lincoln County or Custer County, Nebraska. 2) Applicants must demonstrate substantial financial need. 3) Selection criteria also include: personal history, academic record, education and career goals and relevance of planned course of study, character references, and motivation and ability to succeed. 4) Scholarship may be renewed upon re-application and selection from among all applicants. Nebraska Line Workers Scholarship

Deadline: March 4, 2019

Eligibility: 1) Applicants must be residents of the state of Nebraska. 2) Applicants must intend to pursue training in a utility line program in Nebraska. 3) Selection criteria also include: personal, athletic and work history, education and career goals and relevant planned course of study, character references, and motivation and ability to succeed. Better Business Bureau Student of Integrity Awards Scholarship

Deadline: March 8, 2019

Eligibility: This award recognizes students’ understanding of ethics and demonstrated commitment to honesty andaccountability inside and outside of the classroom. Award: Twelve $2000 scholarships. Application: BBB Scholarship Application


BD Scholarship

Deadline: March 15, 2018 
Eligibility: This scholarship program provides financial assistance to the most qualified individuals who are pursuinghard to fill technical careers. The awardee will have a 2-year commitment to BD upon the completion of his/herdegree. The scholarship money will be taxable upon graduation. Lincoln Community Scholarships

Deadline: March 15, 2019

Eligibility: Generous donors to Lincoln Community Foundation have established more than 80 scholarship funds that benefit students in Lancaster County and across the state of Nebraska. (There are some specifically for Custer County students.) For 2019, there are over 270 individual awards, amounting to a total of $440,000. Award: Various amounts. Henry and Lenora Richardson-VFW District 11 Scholarship

Deadline: March 15, 2019

Eligibility: To apply the applicant must be a current graduating high school senior or first year college student who is a relative of a member of American Legion District 6 (cities listed below), ELKS – Broken Bow area, Masonic Custer Lodge#148 – Broken Bow, United Postmaster and Mangers of America, or VFW District 11. Nebraska State Grange Deaf Education Scholarship

Nebraska State Grange Educational Aid Scholarship

Nebraska Aviation Trades Association Scholarship

Del Lonowski Memorial Scholarship

Deadline: March 15, 2019

NACEB 2018-19 Scholarship Program

Deadline: March 16, 2019

Eligibility: It is expected that each scholarship recipient make at least one presentation to a community, high school, or 4-H group discussing the importance of continuing one’s education at the post-secondary level, the positive experiences and benefits of studying in CASNR/CEHS and encouraging others to study in CASNR/CEHS. The Nebraska Association of County Extension Boards (NACEB) Scholarship Program for the current academic year. Scholarship Includes: One $1,000 scholarship at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (CASNR) or in the College of Education and Human Sciences (CEHS) for an incoming student (freshmen or transfer student) | One $1000 scholarship for a current student (sophomore or higher) enrolled in CASNR or CEHS. Lincoln Legal Professionals Association 2019 Scholarship

Deadline: March 18, 2019

Eligibility: Applicant must be a Nebraska high school or college student who wishes to further his or her education in the legal support field at an institution of higher education and who carries a cumulative 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale). Nebraska Press Women Marianne Beel Memorial Scholarship

Deadline: March 22, 2019

Eligibility: Graduating senior who has a heart for photography/writing/videographer showcasing Nebraska and who is interested in pursuing an education in a communications or related field. Award: $500. Nebraska Press Women Scholarship


Gateway/Kearney Farm Expo Scholarship

Eligibility: The Callaway Hospital District Foundation, Inc. is offering two scholarshipsto be awarded to eligible Arnold High School and Callaway High School graduates. Eligibility: This award is given to a senior boy who is a member of a high school varsity basketball team in the state ofNebraska. A medal and $300 cash award will be presented to the recipient at the halftime of the NCA All-Star Boys’Basketball game and a traveling plaque will be presented to the recipient’s head coach. Coaches are encouraged to nominate a player or players who they feel would qualify for this award.
