Spring Finance Competition for Seniors
Congratulations to the Arnold senior class!
They participated in the Spring 2015 Finance ONLINE competition. They heard about it from an NTV news segment about the contest and decided it was worth a try to win some big scholarship money.
The first step in the competition was to take an online assessment. The four team members had to take the test at the same time but they were unable to help each other.
The Arnold team ranked number 3 out of 70 applicants in the Western Nebraska region!
The top 5 high schools in each region have earned a berth at the regional finals on April 18, 2015. Details will be sent later. Regionals will be held simultaneously in Lincoln, Omaha, and Kearney.
Western Nebraska Top 5: Alliance, Alliance, Arnold Public, Sutherland, Potter-DixLincoln Region Top 5: Johnson-Brock, Nebraska City, Lincoln Southwest, Malcom, Malcom
Omaha Region Top 5: Concordia, Arlington, Pierce, Wausa, Columbus
The state champion team, determined after the regional competitions, will go on to compete for the national title in Kansas City on May 22nd!
There were a total of 236 teams in the High School division: 86 in Lincoln, 80 in Omaha, and 70 in Western Nebraska.
Prize money for this first round went to the overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams listed below. They will have a chance to win much bigger scholarship money at the next level.
